❌The 4 reasons I turn down clients ❌

Many people who offer me money are not a good fit for my services.
✅I have an application process which acts like a 2-way interview.
➡️I have to be the right person to help you,
and you need to be willing to use the strategies that I am going to suggest.
✔️This new series goes into the 4 reasons I turn down money from potential clients
☑️If you are interested in finding the right person to help with your goals I am more than willing to have a chat and point you in the right direction based on your goals and needs.

❌ Number 1❌

✅Currently taking steroids, performance enhancing drugs or substances on the banned list.
⚠️I get quite a few guys wanting to use my services and I would love to help them however having never used these myself.
I can not give the best advice to these athletes.
➡️I just send them to someone who specialises in those athletes
➕➕➕As a qualified sports nutritionist and online coach ➕➕➕
➡️I constantly get requests for my services the majority of which I turn down ❌
✅I became a sports nutritionist to help people, not just to take their money.

❌ Number 2❌

⚠️People who have the wrong mindset about the reasons why they are looking to compete.
✅When it comes to contest prep it is often a way for people to mask their eating disorders.
⛔️⛔️⛔️If potential clients come to me with a bad relationship with food, history of eating disorders and the unwillingness to move past these self imposed beliefs I turn these people down
❌ as it is not in their best interest to compete.
Do they do well?❓
✅Yes I have had clients I have turned down for this reason win overalls comps
⚠️however my concern is with their body and mental health post comp
➡️as it compounds those issues around their body and food.
❗️❗️this is a very grey area as many can benefit from the goal of a comp if the right mindset is in place
❌❌if the wrong mindset is in place I will refer to another allied health professional such as a dietician or sports psychologist

❌ Number 3❌

⚠️People who are looking for a meal plan/quick fix.
➡️A meal plan is a quick fix in the majority of cases.
It doesn’t teach you about food and is only a short-term fix.
❌You drop weight while you are on a meal plan.
Then afterwards you go back to your old habits and pile the weight back on.

⚠️Most times more than you actually lost
✅I focus 100% on education around nutrition so when someone is no longer working with me they have the ability to self manage their food and still get results
✔️this requires more work from me upfront but gives the clients the best results long term
✅This isn’t a recurring business model like most nutritionist will give, however if someone gets amazing results and doesn’t need to pay
me for the rest of their life I believe I will be referred more business.

❌ Number 4❌

People who have special requirements outside my scope of practice ie diabetes.
✅I have insurance to cover me for a limited population, as I am able to help these people.
⚠️The reason why I don’t work outside my scope of practice is because they require approaches that I do not have the skills to deal with.
✅It’s in their and my best interest to work with the best person based on their needs

➡️Some of these I will work with in conjunction with allied health professionals others I completely refer onto other allied health professionals.
